Jared Butler recently agreed to a new one-year contract with the Phoenix Suns, which is structured as a non-guaranteed Exhibit 9 deal at the minimum salary level, according to reports from Hoops Rumors.

However, unlike many similar contracts, Butler’s deal notably lacks any Exhibit 10 language. Typically, Exhibit 10 clauses offer players additional financial bonuses and make it easier for teams to assign them to their G League affiliates if they are waived from the main roster.

Since Butler’s contract does not include this provision, it strongly suggests that if he fails to secure a spot on the Suns’ regular-season roster, he is unlikely to be placed on Phoenix’s G League team.

This could mean the organization may explore other options for his development, such as opportunities with other teams, overseas play, or potentially a different arrangement altogether, rather than keeping him within their immediate developmental system.
