Doug McDermott is returning to the Sacramento Kings on a one-year deal, his agents Mark Bartelstein and Andy Shiffman told Shams Charania of ESPN.

Charania reports that McDermott will earn $3.6 million for the 2025–26 season, which corresponds to the veteran minimum for players with more than 10 years of NBA experience.

McDermott, who is heading into his 12th NBA season and second year with the Kings, saw limited action last season.

He appeared in 42 games, averaging 3.5 points in just 8.1 minutes per game, a career low in playing time, but maintained an efficient 43.6% shooting mark from three-point range.

Now 33 years old, McDermott was selected 11th overall in the 2014 NBA Draft following an outstanding collegiate career at Creighton.

While he hasn’t replicated his college-level dominance in the pros, he continues to be a reliable floor spacer and savvy off-ball mover on offense.

However, his defensive limitations often make him a target on the other end of the floor.
