The Sacramento Kings made significant roster changes, waiving center Orlando Robinson and guaranteeing the contracts of veteran forwards Jae Crowder and Doug McDermott for the remainder of the season.

This move comes as the Kings (18-19) sit 11th in the Western Conference, looking to stabilize their lineup. NBA insider Shams Charania broke the news, reporting that the team is opening up a roster spot with Robinson’s release while committing to Crowder and McDermott.

Robinson, who appeared in just nine games this season, averaged 2.1 points and 1.6 rebounds in 6.3 minutes per game.

Crowder, who has been with Sacramento for a short time, played only six games this season. He averaged 3.3 points and 2.8 rebounds in 14.8 minutes per game.

McDermott has seen more consistent playing time, appearing in 25 games and contributing 3.6 points in 8.7 minutes per game.

This move also frees up a spot that the Kings can use for potential future acquisitions, helping them bolster their chances of climbing the standings. The team is still searching for a breakthrough as they aim to secure a playoff spot.
