The Los Angeles Lakers have officially waived center Trey Jemison III, who had been on a two-way contract with the team, the organization announced in a press release, with a nod to Khobi Price of the Orange County Register for first reporting the news.

This move continues a broader reshaping of the Lakers’ two-way roster. Recent reports indicate that the team is bringing in big man Christian Koloko and guard Chris Manon to fill two of their available two-way slots.

Jemison had occupied the third and final spot, and with his release, the Lakers now have the flexibility to add another player under a two-way deal.

That opening may already be spoken for. Shortly after the 2024 NBA Draft, the Lakers were reportedly quick to scoop up undrafted forward Eric Dixon out of Villanova on a two-way agreement, suggesting that he may be the next addition to the roster.

Jemison originally signed a two-year two-way contract with the Lakers in January.

The 25-year-old center had some bright moments during his stint in Los Angeles, appearing in 22 games and averaging 2.6 points and 2.8 rebounds across 10.3 minutes per game. He was efficient around the basket, shooting nearly 62% from the field.

In addition to his time with the Lakers, Jemison saw action with the New Orleans Pelicans during the 2023–24 season, and also had brief appearances with both the Washington Wizards and Memphis Grizzlies earlier that same year.

Across his NBA career to date, Jemison has logged 63 games (including 14 starts), compiling averages of 4.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 15.3 minutes per game.
