Despite criticism following two straight early playoff exits, Milwaukee Bucks GM Jon Horst remains firmly in Doc Rivers’ corner.
“He’s a championship-level coach,” Horst declared. “He’s the right coach to get us to where we want to go.”
Under Rivers, the Bucks have posted back-to-back 50-win seasons – a solid record considering the team faced a revolving door of injuries, including long stretches without Khris Middleton and most recently, Damian Lillard.
While postseason disappointment lingers, Horst believes the foundation is intact. He praised Rivers for navigating adversity, managing veteran egos, and helping transition Giannis into more of a floor general.
“He understands pressure, and he’s been around superstar talent before. He knows how to motivate and adapt,” Horst said. “We didn’t hire Doc for a one-year solution. He’s here to build something sustainable.”
