Doc Rivers is stepping down as head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks following a disappointing 32-50 season. With his departure, Milwaukee will now be searching for its third head coach in the past three years.

During his two-plus seasons with the team, Rivers compiled a 97-103 record, marking the only losing stint of his Hall of Fame coaching career across five different franchises.

Although Rivers guided the Bucks to the playoffs twice during his tenure, both runs ended in first-round exits.

This past season proved even more difficult, as Milwaukee failed to qualify for the Play-In Tournament altogether.

The organization is expected to pay out the final year of Rivers’ contract in 2026-27.

His replacement will take over at a pivotal moment for the franchise, with uncertainty surrounding Giannis Antetokounmpo’s long-term future in Milwaukee.
