Vasilije Micic has agreed to sign with Hapoel Tel Aviv, marking his return to the EuroLeague after two seasons in the NBA, according to Aris Barkas of Eurohoops.
The 31-year-old Serbian point guard reportedly chose Hapoel over offers from top European clubs including Real Madrid, Fenerbahce, and Anadolu Efes.
Micic will ink a three-year contract that positions him among the highest-paid players in EuroLeague history.
His decision comes days after completing a buyout with the Milwaukee Bucks, where he returned $6.1 million of his 2025–26 salary to become a free agent.
Micic was acquired by Milwaukee earlier this month as part of a massive seven-team trade but never appeared in a game for the franchise.
Over the 2024–25 NBA season, the veteran floor general played 41 games between the Charlotte Hornets and Phoenix Suns, averaging 10.8 points and 6.2 assists during his strongest stint with Charlotte.
Micic’s NBA journey began in 2023 with the Oklahoma City Thunder before being traded to Charlotte, Phoenix, and finally Milwaukee. His most productive stretch came with the Hornets, where he started 21 games.
Before crossing the Atlantic, Micic enjoyed a decorated career in Europe with Anadolu Efes, winning two EuroLeague titles and earning 2021 Final Four MVP honors.
He now returns to the competition he dominated, expected to provide leadership and scoring for a Hapoel squad aiming to climb the EuroLeague standings.
