The Golden State Warriors announced that Nick Kerr, son of head coach Steve Kerr, will join their coaching staff for the 2025-26 NBA season.

Nick Kerr has a coaching background that includes experience at both the college and professional levels. He served as a graduate assistant for California during the 2016-17 season and interned with the San Antonio Spurs in 2018.

From 2020 to 2023, Kerr worked with the Golden State Warriors in player development and video coordination. He then spent two seasons as head coach of the Santa Cruz Warriors before returning to the NBA team this year.

This move reunites Nick Kerr with his father, who has been head coach of the Warriors since 2014. The younger Kerr’s return to the NBA coaching ranks follows Golden State’s effort to build on a competitive 2024-25 season.

Last season, the Warriors finished 48-34, securing the seventh seed in the Western Conference. They advanced past the Houston Rockets in a seven-game first-round series before falling to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the conference semifinals.
