Freshly added to the Bucks roster, Kevin Porter Jr. made a major impact in Milwaukee’s hard-fought 121–115 overtime win over the Miami Heat on Saturday, reports Eric Nehm of The Athletic.

With Damian Lillard sidelined due to a blood clot, Porter has been tasked with a larger offensive role – and he’s stepping up in a big way.

Porter delivered a near triple-double, dropping 24 points, pulling down 12 rebounds, and handing out 8 assists, while consistently attacking downhill and generating offense for a Lillard-less Milwaukee squad.

His performance peaked in crunch time, when he calmly delivered a clutch game-sealing basket under the rim, solidifying his value to the team in pressure situations.

Reflecting on that decisive play, Porter spoke with poise and purpose.

“Fortunate enough I’ve been in those moments where one shot can win the game, or one play, so I just trusted my work, trusted myself and I felt good and confident when I got the trust in my teammates to make that last play,” he said.

“Those are the moments we live for. I love being in those moments, and I’ll take that shot every chance I get.”

Porter Jr. has played 5 seasons for 4 teams, including the Rockets and Clippers. He has averaged 13.9 points, 4.6 assists and 4.1 rebounds in 267 regular-season games.
