Detroit Pistons shooting guard Cade Cunningham had to sit out for two weeks due to a left calf contusion.

However, in his first game back, a 109-103 loss to Memphis on Saturday, Cunningham proved he was back in form, finishing with 25 points, nine rebounds, and four assists.

Despite the tough loss, Detroit’s star player displayed his usual skill and confidence on the court.

According to The Athletic’s Hunter Patterson, Cunningham shared that he was comfortable returning to action despite the challenges he faced during his recovery.

He explained the details of his injury, stating, “I got hit in my left calf and then it made my right calf tighten up a lot,” referencing the initial impact that led to his time on the sidelines.

“So it’s just a lot going on. I got sick at the same time, so it was just trying to battle a lot of different things. (Our) training staff got me right, though. I feel great now. So, I feel good going into the playoffs. It was a good game for me to try to shake off the rust.”

Cunningham has played 4 seasons for the Pistons. He has averaged 21.9 points, 7.3 assists, and 5.4 rebounds in 205 regular-season games.
