Keion Brooks, a rookie forward who signed a two-way contract with the Pelicans on January 9, has seen increased playing time since March 21, when he appeared in six consecutive games.
Before that, he had played in just two NBA games for New Orleans. During this stretch, Brooks has averaged 8.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 52.4% shooting in 22.3 minutes per game, making the most of his opportunity.
Brooks, who aims to prove his versatility and demonstrate that he is a “winning player,” has been taking advantage of the minutes he’s been given.
As his teammate, Jose Alvarado noted, “He’s showing that he belongs here. It’s not only about scoring, but it’s about his effort in everything he does. Defensively and rebounding. Obviously, the offense is going to show. I’m happy for him. He’s going to be a good player in the NBA.”
Brooks has averaged 4.6 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 0.8 assists in 5 games this season.
