Washington Wizards veteran Khris Middleton was forced to exit Thursday’s game at halftime due to discomfort in his right knee.

After the game, Wizards head coach Brian Keefe confirmed that Middleton would undergo an MRI to assess the severity of the injury and determine the next steps for his recovery.

Middleton was acquired by the Wizards at the trade deadline in a deal that saw Kyle Kuzma traded to the Milwaukee Bucks.

The move was primarily a salary cap adjustment for the Bucks, with Washington also gaining a seasoned player to help their roster.

Middleton, who holds a $33.3 million player option for the 2025-26 season, is widely expected to exercise that option.

Throughout 37 games this season with both the Bucks and Wizards, the 32-year-old has averaged 11.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game.
