After sustaining a hip strain in the second half of Monday’s victory over the Denver Nuggets, the Oklahoma City Thunder forward Jalen Williams was sidelined for Wednesday’s road matchup against the Boston Celtics, according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN.

In his absence, Aaron Wiggins stepped into the starting lineup.

Despite missing Williams, the Thunder secured a crucial 118-112 win over the Celtics, officially locking in a top-six playoff spot in the Western Conference and ensuring they will bypass the play-in tournament, per the NBA.

As reported by Tim Bontemps of ESPN, Williams did not accompany the team on their current three-game road trip.

Head coach Mark Daigneault, last season’s Coach of the Year, stated on Wednesday that the Thunder have yet to establish a concrete timeline for Williams’ recovery.
