Although there has been a great deal of media attention and speculation about the Phoenix Suns’ potential pursuit of Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler in recent weeks, the Suns aren’t locking themselves into a “Butler or bust” mentality ahead of the trade deadline, according to John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7.

Gambadoro reports that the Suns’ front office is currently evaluating a broad range of trade possibilities, with more than 20 potential targets being considered.

While Butler remains a prominent name in trade discussions, Phoenix is taking a more well-rounded approach, looking at various options to bolster their roster as they prepare for a potential playoff run.

With the Suns sitting in a competitive position, they aren’t solely focused on one player or one type of deal.

The likelihood of Phoenix making one or more trades before the deadline is high, as they are exploring a diverse set of moves to improve their team, even if it doesn’t result in acquiring Butler.

Butler has played 14 seasons for 4 teams, including the Bulls. He has averaged 18.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in 839 regular-season games.

He was selected to play in 6 All-Star games and has won 1 Most Improved Player award
