The Golden State Warriors face a delicate balancing act: pursuing another championship in Stephen Curry’s prime without completely sacrificing the future.

With their two-timeline vision largely behind them, the Warriors are prioritizing a roster built for immediate contention while keeping an eye on the post-Curry horizon.

Steve Kerr, ever the realist, acknowledges the team’s potential but also its limitations.

“This team has the potential to be a championship team, but we’re not there yet,” Kerr said. “We’re competitive every night, but whether we can do that for four rounds in the playoffs remains to be seen.”

Curry, who has carried the franchise through thick and thin, is acutely aware of the fleeting nature of his championship window.

“Until it’s all said and done, we want to have at least one more [title] to speak for,” Curry said. “That’s what’s left for me. That’s all of it. I still love to hoop, but I love to win even more.”

The urgency is palpable, and the Warriors are making moves to complement their veteran core with the right mix of players.

Whether they succeed in adding another banner to the rafters remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: every decision is now made with Curry’s timeline in mind.
