Zach LaVine is currently delivering strong performances for the Chicago Bulls, even as trade rumors continue to swirl around the veteran guard. Despite the external chatter, LaVine remains focused and has kept his composure on the court, shutting out the speculation.
“I’m not the one controlling that. That’s what has been so good about my mindset. I can control what my mood is and my mindset going into each game. Outside of that, it’s out of my control,” the standout scorer said.
Ahead of the Bulls’ matchup against the Boston Celtics on Thursday, LaVine acknowledged the reported interest from other teams but emphasized his commitment to playing his best for Chicago. He expressed gratitude for the recognition he’s received while reaffirming his intent to honor his current contract.
“I signed a lengthy contract here for a reason. I wanted to stay here,” the player stated. “But it’s always good to know you have interest because that means you’re a player other people want to play with. I’m just thankful for the position I’m at today getting ready for defending NBA champs.”
For now, LaVine’s focus remains on contributing to the Bulls’ success while appreciating the respect he’s garnered around the league.
LaVine has spent 11 seasons in the NBA, playing for both the Chicago Bulls and the Minnesota Timberwolves. Over the course of 604 regular-season games, he has posted career averages of 20.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.9 assists. LaVine has also earned two All-Star selections during his career.
