Head coach Nick Nurse and the Philadelphia 76ers were frustrated with two critical no-calls late in their narrow four-point loss to the Orlando Magic on Wednesday.

One of those controversial moments involved Tyrese Maxey, who appeared to be fouled on a missed three-point attempt that could have sent him to the free-throw line with a chance to tie the game.

Reflecting on the moment, Nurse said, “That’s what the video showed – it should have been three free throws. It would have been a great play, right?” as reported by Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer and other outlets.

The missed call added to the Sixers’ frustrations in a tightly contested game where every play mattered. Nurse emphasized the importance of such decisions, noting how a different outcome on that play could have swung the momentum in the final seconds.

Despite the setback, he stressed the team’s need to regroup and focus on upcoming games as they navigate the challenges of a competitive season.
