Atlanta Hawks rookie Nikola Djurisic, who was selected with the 43rd overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, has fully recovered from the foot surgery he underwent in July.

His agent, Misko Raznatovic, confirmed via Twitter that the 6’7″ swingman is on track to make his long-awaited G League debut this Tuesday, where he will play for the College Park Skyhawks against the Long Island Nets. Djurisic’s recovery marks a key milestone in his development after a challenging offseason.

As a draft-and-stash prospect, the player was signed to a G League contract for the 2024-25 season, allowing him the opportunity to develop his skills further before making a potential leap to the NBA.

The Atlanta Hawks still hold his NBA rights, meaning they retain the option to call him up to their roster in the future, depending on his performance and development in the G League.

Djurisic, who is known for his versatility on both ends of the floor, is expected to benefit from the additional playing time and experience with the Skyhawks, which will help him refine his game and prepare for a potential NBA role down the line.

This developmental approach is not uncommon for international prospects like Djurisic, as teams often use the G League as a platform to accelerate the growth of young players while keeping their NBA options open.

For him, this season with the College Park Skyhawks will be critical in determining his future trajectory within the Hawks’ organization.
