The Atlanta Hawks plan to waive forward Nikola Djurisic to create an open roster spot, according to NBA insider Michael Scotto.
Scotto reported Wednesday that Atlanta intends to convert Caleb Houstan to a standard NBA contract. Houstan has shot 50% from three-point range in 10 games with the Hawks this season.
Houstan has made 6 of his 12 three-point attempts in limited minutes. His ability to space the floor fits alongside high-usage options such as Jalen Johnson and Nickeil Alexander-Walker, who combine for more than 43 points per game.
Djurisic, 21, was selected with the 43rd overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft by the Miami Heat before being traded on draft night to Atlanta in a three-team deal that also involved the Houston Rockets.
He signed with the College Park Skyhawks in October 2024 and later inked a contract with the Hawks on July 11, 2025. His NBA role remained limited during his time on the roster.
In the G League this season, Djurisic averaged 3.0 points in two appearances while shooting 22.2% from the field. During the 2024-25 G League campaign, he posted 5.5 points and 3.9 assists in eight games, though he shot 28.6% overall and 16.7% from three.
The Hawks enter the week at 26-30, 10th in the Eastern Conference standings. They remain in the play-in picture, but recent losses have tightened the margin for error.
