Montrezl Harrell has extended his contract with the Adelaide 36ers for the remainder of the 2024-25 National Basketball League (NBL) season. Harrell, the former NBA Sixth Man of the Year, has quickly become a standout in Australia’s top basketball league.
NBA insider Michael Scotto broke the news, tweeting, “Montrezl Harrell has agreed to a deal for the rest of the season with the Adelaide 36ers.” This move solidifies Harrell’s presence with the team, where he has averaged 15.7 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 1 block per game. He is shooting 55.6% from the field, proving to be an impactful player for the 36ers.
Harrell originally signed with Adelaide on September 12, 2024, as an injury replacement for Jarell Martin. His strong performance has helped the 36ers remain competitive in the NBL.
The 30-year-old veteran has made a smooth transition to the NBL, bringing his NBA experience to Australia. Before his move to the NBL, Harrell spent several seasons in the NBA, most notably with the Los Angeles Clippers, where he earned the Sixth Man of the Year award in 2020.
While Harrell’s focus is currently on leading the 36ers through the NBL season, he remains a player to watch as the NBA playoffs approach. According to Scotto, Harrell will be eligible to sign with an NBA team once the NBL season concludes.
