Montrezl Harrell is officially staying in Australia after signing a new one-year contract to return to the Adelaide 36ers.
As first reported by ESPN‘s Olgun Uluc, Harrell’s agent, Darrell Comer of CSE Talent, confirmed the deal for the 2025-26 NBL season.
Harrell, 31, delivered a dominant campaign for the 36ers in 2024-25, averaging 20.5 points and 9.3 rebounds per game.
His performance helped lift Adelaide to a sixth-place finish and secure a berth in the NBL play-in tournament.
Harrell’s impact also earned him All-NBL Second Team honors, cementing his reputation as one of the league’s top imports.
Despite interest from teams across Europe and Asia, Harrell opted to return to Adelaide for a second straight year.
The former NBA Sixth Man of the Year continues to reshape his career overseas after eight seasons in the NBA.
His most recent NBA stint came with the Philadelphia 76ers during the 2022-23 season, where he averaged 5.6 points and 2.8 rebounds.
After missing the 2023-24 season due to injury recovery, Harrell made an immediate impact in Australia with his physical presence and scoring efficiency.
He quickly became a centerpiece of the 36ers’ offense and one of the league’s most consistent big men.
His decision to remain in Adelaide offers stability for the 36ers as they look to build on last season’s momentum.
Harrell will return to a roster that expects to contend for more than just a play-in spot in 2025-26.
