The Charlotte Hornets have signed Marcus Garrett, Keyontae Johnson, Joel Soriano, and Caleb McConnell to training camp deals, according to Rod Boone.

These additions bring depth and competition to the Hornets’ roster as the team prepares for the upcoming NBA season.

Garrett, who has NBA experience with the Miami Heat, will look to make an impact after spending last season in the G League.

The 6’5″ guard known for his defensive prowess, was waived by the Heat in 2022 but showed promise with the Sioux Falls Skyforce.

Johnson, a 2023 second-round pick by the Oklahoma City Thunder, joins the Hornets after signing a two-way contract earlier this year. He overcame heart issues that initially jeopardized his career and has shown resilience and will aim to make his mark in Charlotte.

Soriano, a standout center from St. John’s, joins the Hornets after an impressive college career where he averaged a double-double during his senior season.

McConnell, known for his versatility and defensive skills, comes off a G League championship-winning season with the Oklahoma City Blue.

The training camp deals offer these players an opportunity to showcase their abilities and possibly earn a spot on the Hornets’ regular-season roster.
