The Golden State Warriors are making significant additions to their coaching staff by bringing in Terry Stotts and Jerry Stackhouse, according to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Warriors plan to hire Stotts as the lead assistant coach and Stackhouse as an assistant under head coach Steve Kerr. Both coaches come to the Warriors with substantial head coaching experience.
Stotts, known for his successful nine-year tenure with the Portland Trail Blazers, brings a wealth of experience the Warriors.
During his time with the Trail Blazers, Stotts led the team to multiple playoff appearances. Last summer he joined the Milwaukee Bucks as an assistant coach under first year head coach Adrian Griffin, but resigned before the start of the season.
Stackhouse, a former NBA player with extensive coaching experience in the G League and Southeastern Conference, will also join Kerr’s staff.
Since his retirement, Stackhouse has earned a reputation for developing young talent and implementing effective defensive schemes. Most recently, he coached Vanderbilt through 2019-24.
