Last month, Cameron Payne was handcuffed and jailed for repeatedly refusing to give officers his real name during a police investigation following his 911 call, according to police.

The Scottsdale Police Department’s report, obtained by TMZ Sports, states that Payne called the cops around 2:44 AM on June 14 after arguing with his girlfriend in Arizona. When officers arrived, he and his girlfriend said they no longer needed police assistance as their argument had calmed down.

Officers needed Payne’s name and date of birth to conclude their investigation, but the Philadelphia 76ers guard refused to cooperate, claiming his name was “Terry Johnson.”

Despite warnings that he would be arrested if he continued to lie, Payne insisted on using the false name, leading to a prolonged back-and-forth with the officers.
