Detroit Pistons President of Basketball Operations Trajan Langdon believes that 2024 #5 pick Ron Holland represents what the organization wants from all their players.

“When thinking about Ron and when we scouted Ron and watching a lot of tape and studying him, Ron embodies what we want all of our players to be here in the city of Detroit for our fans and for this city: hard work, highly competitive, and a high character young man that comes from a great family. We feel he has the ability to impact both ends of the floor at a high level and he’s scary in transition. I think all those qualities really have the ability to move our team up in the future and it’s what we’re looking for from our players and what we want to add and who we have as well and develop those guys. I think the thing too that really impressed me about Ron and impressed us was he knows who he is. The people that you speak about that you want to play like, you know you’re a defense first guy, team first, you want to win… Those type of things, and then you build on that as we get better in that. Those are the things that really intrigued us about adding you to our organization, and for us and for me, you becoming our first pick.”
