The Detroit Pistons are launching their head coaching search after parting ways with Monty Williams.

According to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the Pistons have secured permission to interview Dallas Mavericks assistant Sean Sweeney and Minnesota Timberwolves assistant Micah Nori for the vacant coaching position.

Additionally, the Pistons are planning to interview JB Bickerstaff, the former head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers, who will be available sooner than other candidates.

Wojnarowski also reports that Detroit intends to seek permission to interview more assistant coaches as part of their thorough search process.

The Pistons’ decision to interview Bickerstaff, Sweeney, and Nori highlights their strategy to explore both experienced head coaches and promising assistant coaches for the role.

Detroit is in a precarious position being without a head coach with just five days before the NBA Draft.
