JB Bickerstaff: Ausar’s defense reminds me of Ron Artest

Here’s Detroit Pistons head coach JB Bickerstaff on if he can recall seeing any young perimeter defenders that dominated like Ausar Thompson does (16 steals and 7 blocks in the last five games/averaging a career-high 2.0 SPG).

“No. I mean, at that age, to be able to do what he does and have the understanding of it. He reminds me a lot, and it may look a little bit different, but of how Ron Artest used to be when he would defend. That type of physicality, the feet, the hands. But just being able to be so disruptive, I think that’s one guy that comes to my mind. But I don’t think there’s many guys that do what Ausar does.”
