The Washington Wizards have officially named Brian Keefe as their head coach, marking a significant decision for the franchise.

In a statement released by Wizards general manager Will Dawkins, Keefe’s appointment was hailed as a move to foster continued player development and long-term success for the team.

Keefe initially assumed the role of interim head coach earlier this year. During his tenure as interim head coach, the Wizards demonstrated enhanced defensive prowess, notably holding opponents to the second-lowest three-point percentage in the league.

With a coaching career spanning over 16 years, Keefe brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of nurturing talent to his new role.

His coaching journey includes stints with multiple NBA franchises, including the Brooklyn Nets, Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Clippers, and New York Knicks.
