Washington Wizards head coach Brian Keefe spoke highly of rookie Will Riley’s recent play following Thursday’s 136-131 overtime road loss vs. the Orlando Magic (8 points/5 rebounds/1 block/3-10 FG/1-6 3-PT/1-2 FT in 33 minutes as a starter).

*averaging 14.6 PPG/3.8 RPG/2.3 APG/0.9 SPG/46.3% FG/52.8% 2-PT/35.9% 3-PT/77.8% FT/53.2% eFG/28.6 MPG over the last 18 games*

“Will Riley’s a connector in a lot of different ways. He’s becoming a big threat. We were playing off his spacing. He’s on the scouting report now, you can tell that (by) how teams are guarding him. He’s had a terrific about month and a half here scoring the basketball. But he’s just a connector in a lot of ways. Tonight he was spacing, finding spacing for our guys, secondary playmaking, and I thought his defense was really good, most importantly.”
