Pini Gershon is starting to make changes in Maccabi roster. Legendary coach recently took over after Effi Birenboim was released. According to the latest rumours, The Yellows are interested in Eddie Gill who has been recently cut by New Jersey Nets. Gill could replace either Jason Williams, Chester Simmons or Rodney White.
Maccabi desperately need another point guard to substitute Carlos Arroyo. Dror Hagag has not done the job right so far.
Gill was a member of five NBA teams (New Jersey Nets, Memphis Grizzlies, Portland Trail Blazers, Indiana Pacers and Seattle Sonics). Though his role was very limited and his career average is 3.8 points per game.
30-year-old point guard is also familiar with European basketball having played in Greece, Italy and Russia. In 2006 he played in Euroleague representing Dynamo Moscow.
