The Golden State Warriors maintain their reluctance to trade budding star Jonathan Kuminga as the February 8 deadline looms, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Scotto reports, “The Warriors are pleased with the growth of Jonathan Kuminga this season and are reluctant to trade him, I’m told.” The team would only consider a trade if it involved an All-Star player or an overpayment of draft picks. Despite discussions with the Raptors about Pascal Siakam, no deal came close, and Toronto wasn’t as high on Kuminga as speculated.

In his third NBA season, 21-year-old Kuminga is averaging 14.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 23.4 minutes per game. His January performance has been even more remarkable, with averages of 19.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 28.4 minutes over ten games.

Kuminga is on a four-year, $24.8 million contract and has one more year left on it.
