The Golden State Warriors finally moved Jonathan Kuminga to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for Kristaps Porzingis, per Shams Charania.

Warriors sharpshooter Buddy Hield is included in the trade package, and no picks were involved in the transaction.

With this deal with Atlanta, it appears that they have pulled out of the pursuit of Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The Kuminga drama is now over after 4½ seasons with Golden State, embracing DNPs and injuries, and playing under the same head coach, Steve Kerr.

Kuminga signed a two-year $48.5 million extension with the Warriors in September, which includes a team option for the second year.

He averaged 12.1 points, 5.8 boards, and 2.5 assists this season and is now in a new environment under coach Quin Snyder.

Meanwhile, Hield still has two more years left in his contract, with 2027-28 being a player option worth $10 million.

The shooting guard averaged 8 points in over 43% shooting from the field and 34.4% from deep.

For Golden State, Porzingis holds an expiring $30.7 million contract, which is a major one for the Dubs in the 2026 offseason to sign key players, and might also lead them to revisit the Giannis trade.

The Latvian star just played 17 of Atlanta’s 52 games and missed the team’s last 13 games due to an Achilles injury. He averaged 17.1 points and 5.1 rebounds.
