The New York Knicks have decided to waive injured guard Duane Washington Jr., as confirmed by NBA insider Shams Charania in a recent tweet.

Martin, a versatile guard/forward, is set to return to the Knicks on a two-way NBA contract after showcasing his skills in the G League.

The 19-year-old has been averaging 13 points per game for the Knicks’ Westchester G League affiliate this season.

Martin’s professional journey kicked off with the YNG Dreamerz in the Overtime Elite league, where he left a significant impact. Finishing as the runner-up in Overtime Elite’s Most Improved Player voting, Martin played a pivotal role in leading the Dreamerz to the league Championship series, ultimately falling short against the City Reapers.

This isn’t Martin’s first stint with the Knicks. Despite going undrafted in the 2023 NBA draft, he initially signed a two-way contract with the team on July 3, 2023. However, he was waived on October 18, only to make a comeback with this recent signing.
