In a stunning performance, Tyrese Maxey led the Philadelphia 76ers to a resounding 138-94 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, scoring 30 points and contributing 8 assists.

Post-game, the 23-year-old point guard shared insights into his offseason training with Lakers icon LeBron James, emphasizing the incredible work ethic displayed by the veteran.

Maxey praised James, saying, “The numbers, everything speaks for himself. He’s also someone who’s pretty good at basketball. I feel like his work ethic, now in year 21, it hasn’t slowed down, which is the crazy part to me.”

Despite James’ numerous accolades, including four MVPs and a Finals MVP, Maxey marveled at his relentless drive.

When asked about their workout routines, Maxey revealed an amusing anecdote about James consistently arriving early to the gym.

“Yeah, just we workout at 6, I got there early like always 5:30 to stretch. Next time we work out at 6:00, he was there at 5:00. When I walked in, he was in a full sweat.

“I said ‘What’s wrong? What are you doing?’ And he was like ‘I can’t let you beat me to the gym.’ And I was like ‘You’re insane.’ He was in a full sweat.

“Just had to do a whole lift. So that whole week he was trying to get there at five and I was like ‘You know what, I lift after this workout, so you got it, man. You win.'”

Maxey recounted James’s determination to outpace a younger teammate, showcasing a level of competitiveness that has defined the Lakers star’s illustrious career.

In his fourth NBA season, Maxey continues to elevate his game, boasting impressive averages of 26.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 6.9 assists in 38.4 minutes per game.
