Nets’ head coach, Jacque Vaughn, has offered an encouraging update on the status of Ben Simmons, who endured a challenging season in the NBA but now seems poised for a fresh start.
“Ben is playing five-on-five with no restrictions, so he should be ready for training camp,” Vaughn confirmed, per Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.
This development marks a significant step forward for Simmons and the Nets as they prepare for the upcoming season.
With Simmons set to join the team without any restrictions, Vaughn is looking forward to the opportunity to build team chemistry and establish an identity right from the start.
“Pretty simple, which is good for me to say,” Vaughn added, expressing his eagerness to work with the group and set a clear style of play for the season ahead.
Simmons made his Nets debut on October 19, 2022, but faced several setbacks during the 2022-23 season, including knee soreness and back issues that led to him being sidelined indefinitely.
