In a significant move during the offseason, free agent Christian Wood made his childhood dream a reality by signing a two-year, $5.7 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers after a year with the Dallas Mavericks.

Hailing from California, Wood’s excitement is palpable as he gets ready to don the Lakers’ jersey. “It feels amazing,” Wood told Spectrum SportsNet. “It’s a dream come true. Life-long dream come true.

“I’ve been watching the team since I was a child. It’s amazing to be here, and the atmosphere in the gym is great.”

Last season, the 27-year-old forward averaged 16.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in just 25.9 minutes per game.
