The Los Angeles Lakers have made a significant addition to their roster with the signing of free agent Christian Wood.

The 27-year-old center, previously played for the Dallas Mavericks. Last season he averaged 16.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 25.9 minutes per game.

According to Jovan Buha of The Athletic, there are early indications that Wood will primarily come off the bench, with Rui Hachimura likely to start alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis in the frontcourt.

Wood is expected to play a role of the primary backup center behind Davis, occasionally teaming up with him in two-big lineups. When the team is at full strength, he is anticipated to log around 20 minutes per game.
