In a significant development, NBA insider Marc J. Spears has boldly predicted that the long-anticipated trade involving Damian Lillard could come to fruition before the commencement of training camp.

Lillard, who has expressed his desire to be traded to the Heat, initiated this trade saga more than two months ago, marking the end of his 11-year journey with the Trail Blazers.

As of now, trade negotiations between Portland and Miami have not yet yielded a mutually agreeable deal, resulting in a stalemate. However, Spears’ forecast injects a sense of optimism into the situation, suggesting that the Heat may indeed acquire Lillard before training camp kicks off.

During a recent discussion, Spears was queried about the potential timeline for the much-anticipated trade. When asked if a trade involving Lillard to Miami might occur before the start of training camp, Spears responded confidently, “Yes. Yeah… I think it gets done… That’s my prediction. I’m going to stick with it.”
