Derrick White saved the season for the Celtics by making a tip-in shot at the buzzer in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Heat.

Former NBA player JJ Redick sees the 28-year-old point guard as the unsung hero. He compared White to a cartoon character for how he helps the team.

“To me Derrick White is the ultimate Alfred,” Redick said on The Old Man & The Three podcast. “Any matchup, any series he’s gonna figure out a way to make an impact and help the stars.”

White is averaging 13.1 points, 3 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 29.3 minutes per game in this year’s playoffs.
