The Washington Wizards and big man Kristaps Porzingis are in serious discussions on a contract extension as the franchise prioritizes new deals for him and small forward Kyle Kuzma, via Shams Charania.

“Porzingis and the Wizards have been serious discussing a new deal in which he would opt out of his $36 million player option for the 2023-24 season and sign a new long-term deal, those sources say.”

Porzingis has averaged 23.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.5 blocks over 65 appearances this season. Meanwhile, Kuzma has averaged 21.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists over 64 appearances.
