Rui Hachimura has been eyed by both the Dallas Mavericks and the Sacramento Kings for a potential trade, sources told HoopsHype’s Mike Scotto.

Hachimura, a soon-to-be restricted free agent, drew plenty of attention recently after dishing out a vague response if he requested a trade out of D.C.

“I just want to be somewhere that wants me as a basketball player,” Hachimura said.

A once coveted young piece in the Wizards camp, the Japanese big man became very much available in trade talks and eventually went on to be offered in the market.

This year, Hachimura is averaging 13.0 points, 4.3 boards, and 1.2 assists while shooting 48.8 percent from the field in 30 games. His numbers have been stagnant since his rookie season in 2019-2020 and were then shoved back of the team’s frontcourt rotation priorities upon the emergence of Kyle Kuzma.
