Draymond Green has some other thoughts on Ja Morant’s claim that he has no worries about the competition of the Western Conference.

Morant’s remarks with ESPN’s Kendra Andrews became viral last December, as the Memphis Grizzlies star made it known that he is “fine” in the West while noting that the Boston Celtics stands as the only real threat for a title.

For his part, while he also believes that all things are good within their conference, Green isn’t that sure if the Grizzlies are worthy enough to be feared.

“I got a lot of love and respect for Ja,” Green said on the latest episode of his podcast. “Young leader that makes his guys believe whatever he believes. And that’s a very powerful thing as a leader. He got that. Has had it since Day 1, and you can see it glaringly noticeable since the time he set foot in Memphis. I’m not sure he can quite make his guys believe that one, which is ‘I’m fine in the West.’

“You are fine, Ja. You are. But the Warriors in the West now, champ. So yes, you are fine, Ja. The Grizzlies, on the other hand, that’s a topic for another day.”

Currently, the Grizzlies are 11-10 against Western Conference opponents. While the record is fair to be described as it is, the season still has plenty of time for them to improve their case. As such, the West is also occupied by fellow contending teams that can truly offer a fight.

The budding rivalry of both Warriors and Grizzlies will continue this regular season for their second encounter on Jan. 25.
