The Sacramento Kings are set to guarantee Matthew Dellavedova’s contract this season, an update relayed by HoopsHype’s Mike Scotto.

To start the season, both Kings and Dellavedova have agreed on a partially guaranteed deal worth around $2.62 million – a veteran’s minimum in value. With tomorrow being the deadline for players having a guaranteed deal, Dellavedova will fully be allowed by the team brass to earn this given salary.

Off the bench, Dellavedova carries that veteran leadership from the previous years of play in the NBA, as he was notably a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers team that won a championship back in the 2015-2016 season. Prior to joining the Kings, he played for Melbourne United in the previous 2021-22 campaign.

This year, Dellavedova is just averaging 1.2 points in 6.7 minutes played per 15-game appearance. While he isn’t that active in the rotation, it appears that head coach Mike Brown is fond of what he brings most especially off the court.

The Kings are currently the fifth-seeded team in the West with a 20-17 record.
