Phoenix Suns Big man Deandre Ayton won’t be activated for at least a week due to a left ankle sprain, the team announced on Saturday.

Ayton sustained the injury during the Suns’ Friday match against the New Orleans Pelicans, wherein he stepped on the foot of Jonas Valanciunas on the first frame. He took a seat on the bench and eventually headed to the locker room.

He played seven minutes prior to his exit, and was replaced by Bismack Biyombo in the second half. The Suns went on to win the game, 124-111, behind the two-way display of Mikal Bridges.

Ayton is currently averaging 15.4 points and 8.2 rebounds for the Suns, who now cemented a solid 4-1 record to start the season. He inked a $133 million deal last season as a restricted free-agent of the team.

With his impending absence, Biyombo and Jock Landale are expected to step up necessarily at the five for Phoenix.
