As the NBA offseason buzzes with trade rumors and speculation, one intriguing possibility has emerged involving the Phoenix Suns and their star center, Deandre Ayton.

Recent reports suggest that the Suns might be open to trading Ayton, with the Portland Trail Blazers’ Jusuf Nurkic being a potential trade target.

John Gambadoro, a reputable NBA insider, addressed the Ayton trade rumors, highlighting that the Suns had been reluctant to part ways with the 25-year-old center throughout the summer.

However, the situation could change if Nurkic became available as part of a larger trade deal, especially if Damian Lillard were to leave the Trail Blazers.

While Portland had previously shown little interest in Ayton, the dynamics of a potential Lillard trade could lead them to reconsider. Ayton’s youth and potential as a 25-year-old building block might align with the Blazers’ vision for the future.

On the statistical front, Ayton averaged 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in just over 30 minutes per game last season.

In comparison, Nurkic contributed 13.3 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in approximately 27 minutes per game.
