According to information from the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office, the Charlotte Hornets player James Bouknight was booked into jail at 1:51 a.m. on Sunday on a DWI charge, via WBTV News.

The Charlotte Hornets have released the following statement:

“We are aware of the incident involving James Bouknight and are in the process of gathering additional information. We will have no further comment at this time.”

Bouknight, the 11th pick in the 2021 NBA draft, played sparingly as a rookie last season. In 31 appearances, he averaged 4.6 points and 1.7 rebounds in 9.8 minutes per game.
