The Charlotte Hornets have picked up their 2023-24 team option on LaMelo Ball, as well as James Bouknight and Kai Jones, the club officially announeced on Thursday. Ball’s salary in his fourth year will be guaranteed, the same way goes for the third year of Bouknight and Jones.

Ball, 21, remains out for the team as he is continuing to nurse his ankle injury. Nevertheless he proved himself as a franchise star after an All-star nod last season. He averaged 20.1 points, 7.6 dimes, 6.7 boards, and 1.6 blocks across 75 games in 2021-22.

Meanwhile, Bouknight worked his way up to the rotations of head coach Steve Clifford, as he is currently averaging 5.8 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.5 sssists in 15.5 MPG in his second year.

Meanwhile, Jones is yet to gain added minutes from team’s coaching, as he is currently tallying 1.5 points in 3 minutes of play.
