The Houston Rockets are exercising their team option on Jae’Sean Tate for the 2022-2023 season, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle has relayed.

Tate is now set to earn a $1.8 million salary and will become a restricted free agent for next offseason.

Last 2021-2022 campaign with the Rockets, Tate had an 11.8 points average to go with 5.4 boards, 2.8 assists and almost 50 percent shooting from the field. He primarily played as a reliable, undersized power forward while appearing as a starter in 77 out of 78 games he suited up.

Houston remains committed to its rebuild program upon recently choosing Jabari Smith Jr. for the third pick of the 2022 NBA Draft.
