The Houston Rockets plan to re-sign veterans Jeff Green, Aaron Holiday, and Jae’Sean Tate, according to a report from Shams Charania. All three players are set to return on new deals as the franchise continues shaping its roster for the 2025–26 season.

Charania reported on Thursday that Houston’s recent moves include acquiring Kevin Durant, extending Steven Adams and head coach Ime Udoka, and re-signing Fred VanVleet. The Rockets are now finalizing contracts to bring back their remaining free agents.

Tate, 29, became an unrestricted free agent following the conclusion of his three-year, $20.6 million contract. The 6-foot-4 forward averaged 3.6 points and 2.3 rebounds across 52 games this past season, seeing a career-low 11.3 minutes per game under Udoka’s rotation.

Despite the dip in usage, Tate remains a respected locker room presence and a versatile defender who can guard multiple positions. Over five seasons with the Rockets, he’s compiled averages of 8.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 296 career appearances.

Holiday, 27, provided efficient guard play off the bench during the 2024–25 campaign. In 78 games, he posted 6.6 points and 1.8 assists per night while shooting over 40 percent from three. His shooting and defensive effort earned him a consistent role in Udoka’s second unit.

Green, 38, remains one of the league’s longest-tenured players. The former lottery pick suited up for 74 games last season in his second stint with the franchise, averaging 5.2 points in 14.8 minutes. His experience and leadership have proven valuable on a roster with emerging young talent and newly added veterans.

All three players are expected to sign short-term deals, though the financial terms and contract lengths have not yet been disclosed.
