New Orleans Pelicans’ rookie Jose Alvarado has bold plans for his future. The 24-year-old point guard, who was assigned to guarding Chris Paul in the first round series against the Suns, vowed he would win the Defensive Player of the Year award in future.

“One day I’m going win DPOY , Mark my word !” Alvarado tweeted. This past season he averaged 6.1 points, 1.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.3 steals in 15.4 minutes per game coming off the bench for the Pelicans.
